The Wives Hear Everything And it is Not Always Pleasant What They Find Out
There is nothing as sad as when an old soul stays around too long and is trapped by their own bad judgment in a job or profession that they can no longer perform to a high standard. Eighty-four-year-old former Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had been inching toward that dubious distinction for a while now, and it all came crashing down on June 14th, of this year, after he allegedly collapsed in his own Washington DC home, was subsequently discovered by unknown persons, and quickly whisked away to a local hospital in a supposedly unconscious state.
A public plea, a full 24 days later, by Democratic Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky about the Senator’s condition has elicited only a generic “continues his recovery in a hospital” boilerplate obfuscation that contained little information of value.
And that’s it.
Since that point, there has been virtual radio silence.
Not only is the news blackout strange but it reeks of skullduggery, because if the ex-Majority Leader is deceased or permanently incapacitated as in - a vegetative state - that means a special election can be held to select a replacement. A process that would be controlled by Governor Beshear. - A democrat.
However, if the news of McConnell’s gravely ill or deceased state is not released until after August 3rd, then that’s too late for an election before the November midterms.
The second is a much better situation for the Republican Party in Kentucky, and a less than favorable outcome for Democrats who want to seize control of the Senate.
The loss of a Senate seat in Kentucky – inconceivable as recently as November 2024, would be a crippling blow to Trump’s presidency, especially if the Democrats take over in the House of Representatives, which they are already predicted to accomplish handily.
Adding to the stink of this entire situation is the curious fact that Elaine Chao, Mitch McConnell’s Asian wife [Taiwanese born] continued to a meeting with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng even after news of her husband’s medical emergency.
The meeting with Zheng was scheduled for June 17th. That left plenty of time for Chao to postpone or cancel and return home to her ailing spouse.
She did no such thing.
This of course only ginned up the speculation that McConnell is already permanently incapacitated – such that her rushing to his bedside – would have been only for show.
There is no love in many quarters of this country for Senator McConnell, but his current medical situation is being handled like a routine from a late-night comedy show. The citizens of Kentucky deserve better than they’re getting from their elected representatives and the operatives under their control, and this slimy underhanded ploy to try to maintain control of the Senate at the expense of the dignity of a man who was once powerful and feared in the US Senate is tawdry in the extreme.
The longer this charade goes on, and if Mitch McConnell is somehow already lost to the world, this heaping pile will indeed be fodder for late night jokesters for years to come.
A man once powerful enough to steal a Supreme Court seat from a popular and well-respected president, has become a Schrödinger’s cat, in human form, both dead and alive at the same time.
Or then again, maybe it’s just Karma.
Nobody Promised It Was Going to Be Easy

Yes America, you did vote for what’s going on right now. Too many of us fell for a con man’s words. Jobs have been lost, armed men roam the streets looking for people without documents, and the homeless problem exists in every big city across the land. And the high cost of food and gasoline makes it difficult for everyone, including those gainfully employed. The November 26 midterms are a chance to put a big wrench in the current regime’s plans. Don’t forget to go out and vote this fall.
Your future is depending upon it.
This is only a brief taste of what’s on the way from MADDOX NEWS in the weeks and months ahead. Be sure to spread the word. Your help in getting this publication to grow will be much appreciated.
